Gao Ong Du Signs Offtake Agreements for 1,000 Hectares of Rice under the One Million Hectares High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Project
Gao Ong Du has signed offtake agreements covering 1,000 hectares of rice cultivation in alignment with the One Million Hectares High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Project. The rice fields in Can Tho City are being cultivated under a cooperative model linking enterprises and farmers, contributing to sustainable agricultural development and emissions reduction.
Can Tho City – An agricultural enterprise has implemented a production linkage and offtake program for approximately 1,000 hectares of rice in Can Tho City, participating in the One Million Hectares High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Project in line with the sustainable agriculture orientation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Accordingly, TD Soc Trang Organic Rice Agriculture Joint Stock Company (brand: Gao Ong Du) has signed cooperation agreements with multiple cooperatives, farmer groups, and individual farmers in the area to establish a concentrated rice-growing material zone. The rice is produced under standardized processes, with quality control ensured from inputs to final output.

Production Linkages and Guaranteed Offtake for Farmers
Under the cooperation framework, Gao Ong Du commits to purchasing the entire rice output of farmers participating in the model. At the same time, the company provides high-quality rice varieties, agricultural inputs, and technical guidance in line with the criteria of the One Million Hectares Rice Project, helping farmers reduce production costs and improve economic efficiency.
This linked production model gives farmers greater confidence in market access, prevents price pressure from middlemen, and gradually shifts traditional farming practices toward more modern, environmentally friendly, and low-emission methods.
Effectiveness of the High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Model
In practice, many participating farmers report stable yields, reduced pest pressure, and lower input costs compared to conventional production. Notably, rice prices under the company’s offtake agreements are often higher than prevailing market prices, contributing to improved income and living standards for rice growers.

Beyond economic benefits, the model also helps reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and plant protection products, contributing to environmental protection, improved soil quality, and alignment with the national strategy for green and sustainable agricultural development.
Representatives of Gao Ong Du stated that in the coming period, the company will continue to expand its linked cultivation areas while investing in the completion of a fully integrated rice value chain—from raw material zones and milling to packaging and market distribution.

Participation in the One Million Hectares High-Quality Rice Project not only enables the company to secure a stable raw material supply, but also contributes to enhancing the value of Vietnamese rice, creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers, and promoting green, low-emission agricultural development.
